Hi, I'm Samantha
I’m an attorney, business consultant, advocate, mom of three, and the person behind The Counsel Method.
I’ve spent my career helping people navigate complicated decisions, closing the legal knowledge gap, and turn a lot of “Okay, but what do we actually do?” into a practical plan. I care about getting things right, but I also care about how we get there.
That’s really the idea behind The Counsel Method.
All About Me
I believe a successful business can make money and treat people well. That accessibility and inclusion should be part of how we build businesses, not something added later when someone complains. That your values should show up in your policies, your marketing, your customer experience, and the way you make decisions when nobody is giving you a checklist.
And I believe good business advice should actually be useful. No corporate jargon. No 47-page report that sits in a folder. No pretending there’s one “right” way to run a business.
I have done this through consulting services, legal services, educational webinars, and speaking engagements including to universities, and large corporations like U.S. Foods and CDW.
These days, I live in the Netherlands with my husband and our three kids, while continuing to work with businesses and professionals in the U.S. Living and working internationally has given me an even broader perspective on the way we approach work, family, accessibility, community, and what we expect from the businesses around us.
I’m also a working mom, which means I have very little interest in solutions that sound great in theory but make absolutely no sense in real life.
I’m an attorney by training, a researcher by nature, and someone who will probably ask you why more than once. I like specifics. I like creative solutions. I care deeply about fairness and inclusion. And I think businesses have an enormous opportunity to do good while still being really, really good at business.
That’s the kind of business I want to help you build.
